General AI, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates Screenshots.AI. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application and services.
U.S.-Based Company: Screenshots.AI is developed and operated by General AI, LLC, a United States company based in Michigan. All of our cloud infrastructure providers—including our hosting, authentication, and payment processing—are also U.S.-based companies. Your data remains within the jurisdiction of U.S. privacy laws and regulations.
Our Commitment: Screenshots.AI is designed with privacy in mind. We do not store your screenshots on our servers, and your images are never used to train AI models. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide and improve our service.
1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:
Email address - Used for account identification and communication
Authentication tokens - Used to keep you signed in securely
Usage Information
To provide our service and enforce usage limits, we track:
Screenshot processing counts - Number of screenshots processed (not the screenshots themselves)
Feature usage metrics - Aggregated counts of AI feature usage (chat, search, collections)
Subscription status - Your current plan tier and billing status
Payment Information
If you subscribe to Screenshots.AI Pro:
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe
We do not store your credit card numbers or banking details
We receive only a customer identifier from Stripe to link your subscription to your account
Local Data (Stored on Your Device)
Screenshots.AI stores the following data locally on your computer:
Your screenshot database (metadata, AI-generated descriptions, and search indexes)
Application preferences and settings
Cached data for offline functionality
Important: Your screenshot images are stored only on your device. While screenshots are temporarily transmitted to AI services for analysis (see Section 3), they are not permanently stored on our servers or any third-party servers.

3. AI Processing
Screenshots.AI uses artificial intelligence to analyze, describe, and organize your screenshots. To provide these features, your screenshots are temporarily transmitted to trusted third-party AI services for processing.
How AI Processing Works
Temporary Transmission: When you process a screenshot, the image is securely transmitted to AI service providers (Google Gemini and/or OpenAI) for analysis
Anonymous Processing: Your images are sent without any personally identifiable information. AI providers do not receive your name, email, or account details—only the image content and processing instructions
Transient Processing: Your images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored by these AI providers after the analysis is complete
Results Only: Only the AI-generated text (descriptions, detected text, categories) is returned to your device and stored locally
What We Don't Do
No Server Storage: We do not store your screenshots on our servers
No AI Training: Your screenshots are never used to train or improve AI models
No Identifiable Data Sent: Your personal information is never attached to images sent for AI processing
No Sharing: Your images are not shared with third parties beyond the AI processing described above
AI Service Providers
We use the following AI services, each with their own data handling practices:
Google Gemini: Subject to Google's Privacy Policy. API data is not used to train Google's models.
OpenAI: Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. API data is not used to train OpenAI's models by default.
By using Screenshots.AI's AI features, you consent to this processing. The AI analysis is essential to the core functionality of the application.
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
Authentication tokens are stored securely using your operating system's credential manager
Server infrastructure is hosted exclusively with U.S.-based providers in U.S. data centers
Access to user data is restricted to essential personnel only
U.S.-Based Infrastructure: Our servers are hosted by DigitalOcean, a U.S. company headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado (originally founded in New York City). We use their NYC1 data center, which is physically located in Manhattan, New York. All third-party services we use—Google Firebase, Stripe, OpenAI, and Google—are also U.S.-based companies subject to U.S. data protection standards.
6. Data Retention
Account Data: Retained while your account is active, deleted upon account deletion request
Usage Metrics: Retained for 90 days for billing and analytics purposes
Local Data: Remains on your device until you uninstall the application or manually delete it
Screenshots.AI is a general-purpose productivity application and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
9. International Users
Screenshots.AI is operated by a U.S. company, and our servers are located in the United States (specifically at DigitalOcean's NYC1 data center in Manhattan, New York). If you access Screenshots.AI from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States under U.S. data protection laws. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer.
