Does this watch what I'm doing on my computer?

Absolutely not. Screenshots.AI only processes screenshots that you manually save to your Screenshots folder. We don't monitor your screen, record your activity, or capture anything automatically. You're always in complete control of what gets processed.

Do you store my screenshots on your servers?

We never keep your screenshots. When you process an image, it's securely sent to trusted, industry-standard enterprise AI services for analysis, then deleted—nothing is stored on our servers or theirs. We use Google and OpenAI's enterprise APIs, which have strict privacy policies prohibiting data retention and training use. Only the text results are saved, and those live locally on your device.

Are my screenshots used to train AI models?

Never. Your screenshots are never used to train or improve any AI models—not ours, not anyone else's. We use enterprise AI APIs (Google Gemini, OpenAI) that explicitly don't use API data for training. Your images are processed anonymously without any personal information attached.

What's included in the free tier?

Free users get 500 screenshot imports plus 500 new screenshots per month. All features are available—search, collections, timeline, ideas, and more. No credit card required. Upgrade to Pro for higher limits when you need them.

What data do you actually collect?

We collect only what's necessary: your email for account login, and aggregate usage counts (like "processed 50 screenshots this month") for billing. We don't see your screenshots, their contents, or any personal information from them. All the good stuff—descriptions, search indexes, collections—stays local on your device.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, completely. Uninstall the app and your local database is gone. Request account deletion and we remove your email and usage records from our servers. Since we don't store your screenshots, there's nothing to delete on our end—you always have full control.

How does AI analysis work if nothing is stored?

When you process a screenshot, it's securely transmitted to trusted enterprise AI services (Google Gemini or OpenAI) for analysis. The AI extracts text, detects URLs, and generates descriptions—then your image is immediately discarded from their servers. Only the text results are saved, and those stay locally on your device. Your actual screenshots never leave your computer permanently.

How does the AI search work?

We use semantic search powered by AI embeddings. This means you can search by meaning, not just exact keywords. Search "that product I was looking at" and find relevant screenshots even if those exact words aren't in the image.

Does it work with any screenshot tool?

Yes! Screenshots.AI monitors your Screenshots folder regardless of how images get there. Windows Snipping Tool, Win+Shift+S, ShareX, Greenshot, or any other tool—they all work seamlessly.

Can I import existing screenshots?

Absolutely. When you first set up the app, it will process your existing screenshots (up to your tier's import limit). New screenshots are processed automatically as you take them.

Is there a macOS or mobile version?

We're currently Windows-only, but macOS and mobile versions are in active development. Follow us on social media or check back soon for updates.
